Things to Eat in Ambala Cantt

Ambala Cantonment is a town in Ambala district in the state of Haryana, India. This cantonment was established in the year 1843 and is an important Centre for manufacturing of scientific and surgical instruments. However, the place is also famous for its Air Force Station as it is home to the first batch of advance multirole fighter jet Dassault Rafales. The place is well connected through Rail and Bus Service.

 

In case if you are visiting Ambala Cantt, one should definitely try following things :-

1) Om Ji Pindi Wale ke Chole Bhature
The only place to have Chole Bhature in Ambala Cantt is Om Ji Pindi Wale Ke Chole Bhature. Serving from the last 50 Years, the business is run by the third generation today. What they do is, first they half fry the Bhature and than they use a Hot Pan (Tawa) to ready it. Hence u get oil free bhature on your plate.

2) Garg Puri Wale

Garg Puri Wale is one the famous Puri Shop in Ambala. The shop is located on Ambala-Jagadhri Road and one of the favorite breakfast destination place for the people of Ambala. This place is also covered by many of the Top Food Bloggers. Serving from the last 50 Years, the place has built a permanent space in hearts of the people. The shop serves lassi with the Puri and Samosa in the evening. A lot of travellers on Delhi-Amritsar Highway take a halt at this place just for a plate of Puri.

What to try – Puri served with 4 Sabji (Chole + Aloo Dry + Aloo Gravy + Kaddu)

3) Pehlwan Ji Khasta Kachori Wale
Pehlwan Ji Khasta Kachori Wale is definetly a must stop place to try their famous Aloo Ki Kachori. The place is around 40+ Years old and serving one of the best Kachori. Along with Kachori one can get Aloo Ki Tikki and Gulab Jamun. The place is one of the favorite munching stop for the people of Ambala.

4) Shree Bihari Lal Ji Paan Wala
Shree Bihari Lal Ji Paan Wala is a famous spot for the younger generation. The reason being their hot selling Fruit Beer which students use to flaunt on their social media's calling it as Beer. Also their Momos are damm yummy. Probably one of the best Momos in the city. The funniest part of the shop is their sign board with a sub heading "हमारे यहाँ पर शादी के लिए किराए पर बाराती मिलते हैं".

5) Patta Chaat Bhandar
Patta Chaat Bhandar is one of the famous place for Aloo Tikki served on Leaf. I am going to this place since my childhood days and this place is definitely a must stop place whenever I visit Ambala Cantt.

6) Swadisht Kadi Chawal
This place is serving one of the best Tadke Wale Kadi Chawal. On an estimate a 100Kg of Kadi Chawal is sold here everyday. The man who started this shop ran away from Saharanpur and started his shop in Ambala Cantt. Started the work with just Rs 38/- given to him by her mom. He says hard work always pay off. By Grace of God today he has everything. This place is covered by many of the Top Food Bloggers. He says many people criticized him that people don't eat Kadi Chawal in Ambala, but today he see those people selling Kadi Chawal.

7) Jain Soda Water

Jain Soda Water located in J.D. Plaza, Sadar Bazar, Ambala Cantt is one of the oldest Ice Cream parlour which has now turned out into a perfect dining restaurant serving North Indian, South Indian food and much more.  This place is famous for its Milk Badam and Ice Cream. Their North Indian food is definitely a must try. I personally love their Kadhai Paneer very much, One of the best in Ambala. I would also recommend their Hakka Noodles.

8) Parkash Coffee House
Parkash Coffee House is famous for its Cheese Toast and Coffee.

Sagar Vaishno Dhaba, Ambala City (A Pure Ve g Dhaba/Restaurant) Sagar Vaishno Dhaba was started in 1999 by Prakash Dua Ji and his elder brother. There is interesting story behind the starting up of this Dhaba i.e. Prakash Ji found that there was no place to have hygienic and clean vegetarian food in Ambala which gave him idea to start-up his own Dhaba with the help of his brother.
